RESEARCH

The MFG's research program is focused on the scientific collection of data that will help inform conservation plans and decisions. Our two primary research sites are Betampona Natural Reserve and Parc Ivoloina.


 

Key projects include::  mapping species diversity, distribution, and density in Betampona and Parc Ivoloina, control of invasive flora in Betampona

EDUCATION

The MFG's education activities, programs and resources have been developed to provide an integrated, multi-faceted and tailored approach to environmental education needs in the greater Tamatave Region.  Our target audience ranges from primary school children, local villagers, politicians and business leaders. 
 

Key projects include: the Saturday School Program, public awareness festivals, an environmental newsletter

CAPACITY BUILDING

The MFG includes a capacity building component into all its conservation activities. We have developed ecoagriculture workshops for different stakeholders and partnered with universities to increase and improve curriculums.


 

Key programs include:

Development of ecoagriculture curricula for University of Tamatave, teacher training workshops, a growing information resource center
